MythTV can access interactive services from your digital TV provider. I use mine to make use of the excellent BBC ‘red button’ service and it works great.
To enable interactive services, start myth frontend and edit the settings. From the Myth frontend main menu, the steps are:
Utilities/Setup -> Setup ->TV-Settings->Playback Onscreen Display.
Once in there, simply put a tick/check in the the ‘Enable Interactive TV’ setting. When you next watch TV and an interactive/red button is available, you can press F2 to access the content.
The buttons active while browsing content are:
F2 = Red button
F3 = Green button
F4 = Yellow button
F5 = Blue button
F7 = Exit
Arrow keys = navigation
Enter = Select/OK
